Hi, my name is Simon.
All my life, I've loved the way people express themseles through the written form. Books, poems, articles, essays--these are all ways humans have allow their creative spirits to flourish through a medium that often leaves in its wake a wealth of ideas, experiences, and stories that outlive the authors, yet allow them to speak through their readers' inner ear for centuries.
As I grew up, my love for the written word developed a new depth based in a desire to add my own contributions to the vast global library of miscellaneous written works. In an effort to practice my writing and develop a space to share my thoughts, I wanted to launch this blog, which is aptly named Simon Says it All; I will presumably be sharing thoughts that cover my varied passions and interests, from the game of baseball to my Catholic faith, from paragraph to poetry, from tirade to tidbit.
I have no idea how eclectic this project will become, but consider this your introduction to Simon Says it All! If you spend any time reading or listenng to what I have to say, I sincerely thank you. I hope and pray that my words and thoughts bring you some small joy, for what writer's intention is not to leave the world a little brighter than the way they found it?
Which reminds me of an arrangement of letters so powerful that it may very well have been responsible for my love for reading and writing from the beginning. I will leave it here for you, and I hope it reaches your heart the way it did mine:
"...light is precious. Come closer, dear reader, you must trust me.
I am telling you a story."
